Buffy the Vampire Slayer – one of the gems to come from America. It’s a pulp-comic made with humans. Wonderfully crafted TV with a sense of humour and, most importantly, a sense of self-mocking too. It knows it’s a comic, and it plays to that perfectly.

Joss Whedon (creator, and writer) span the same magic with Firefly, but missed the target with the more maudlin Angel.
